About Us
Growing Katherine Business Limited (GKBL) is a not for profit, community organization established in June 2008 and managed by a small Board of community members.
GKBL's aim is to grow Katherine's economy by encouraging the start up of new enterprises and the expansion of existing Katherine based businesses.
Our organisation employs an Enterprise Facilitator to introduce the fundamentals of good management to aspiring entrepreneurs and small business operators within the community. The Enterprise Facilitator works with a Resource Board of community members who share information and networks to assist the client.
We utilise a method of economic development called community based enterprise facilitation developed the Sirolli Institute, an economic development group based in the USA. To find out more about this method follow this link www.sirolli.com
The basic principles of Sirolli are that you cannot help anyone who does not want to be helped. That within our community there are people who have the skills and the passion to achieve their goals. That within our community there are people who are willing to share their skills in order to help each other.
We tap into the good will and the desire to see our community thrive to like people together to share their skills and talents. It is through this synergy that we believed a healthy and sustainable future is achievable.
